Glacier Bay was an ordained project for me. During my time in the New York’s School of Visual Arts I often visited the ‘Witkin’ Gallery. I would peruse the portfolio section often, and Mr. Witkin directed me to a new acquisition, the photographer Dean Brown. He worked for National Geographic and made the most beautiful Dye Transfer prints I have ever seen. Small, flawless prints of Glacier Bay caught my eye. Mr. Brown died in an accident while he was working, too early in his career. This work is an homage to his short career of brilliance.
